AIM SOLAR CORPORATION PRODUCT WARRANTY

AIM Solar is a distributor and not a manufacturer of solar street lighting systems. Our company purchases solar modules, batteries, charge/lighting controllers, solar lights, poles, mast arms, electrical wiring, etc., from our suppliers who acquire products from their distributors or direct from manufacturers. Product warranties are offered by the manufacturer. Our company purchases quality products from well known named manufacturers such as BP Solar, Shell, Kyocera, Morningstar, MK Batteries, Trojan Batteries, Pelco Products Inc., Thin-Lite Corporation and so on. Most manufacturers offer long term warranties. For instance, BP Solar offers a 25 year limited warranty on their solar modules. Unfortunately, a product may fail for one reason or another either during the warranty period or sometime after the warranty period has expired.

Our company will do our best to work with you to resolve any warranty claims that may arise. We insure all shipments to you whether shipped by ground, air or by sea. If a shipment arrives to your destination having damage to the container make sure that you advise the shipper immediately. Do not sign a release waiver from the shipper agreeing to receive the product “as is” if there is damage to the container. Once you receive the shipment, open the container and inspect the products to make sure that there is no physical damage. Contact us if you find any damage or if a product fails to operate properly.

Select a reputable and experienced contractor to install your solar street lighting system. Although we are not a contractor, we will be glad to consult with your contractor for ease of the installation. Have your contractor read the installation manual. Soils for light pole foundations will vary across the continent. For this reason, you may decide to contract with a civil engineer in your area as he should be aware of the soil conditions, wind shear, local ordinances, etc.

We recommend placing light pole foundations in soils having a bearing pressure of 2,000 PSF or greater. Generally, drilled holes for foundations require 24 inch diameter by 5 foot depth drilled holes. A suggested foundation design with recommended rebar sizes can be found at our website at aimsolar.com. Note that these are our recommendations only and we suggest that you contract with a civil engineer in your area for your particular site design. We assume no liability either expressed or implied as to your installation.

We recommend concrete for light pole foundations to have a compressive strength at 28 days of 2,000 PSI or greater. We suggest that your contractor allow the concrete to cure for several days before installing the solar street light pole and other solar components. Since light poles are constructed of aluminum or steel; be careful when working around electric poles. Use proper mechanical equipment for your installation such as using a scissor lift to reach the top of the pole for installing the modules, solar light, etc. Do not attempt to install solar modules, mast arms, solar lights or other components from a ladder. This is very dangerous! Always follow OSHA guidelines.

Once the solar street lighting system installation is complete, be sure that the foundation bolting and other bolted components are tight and secure. Occasionally, check the foundation bolting and other bolted components for tightness as wind, vibration or even earth tremors could cause the bolting to loosen. Keep bolts tight as necessary. By surfing to our website and by you making a decision to purchase our solar street lighting products; you agree that you have read this waiver of liability prior to your purchase. In the event of litigation against us for any purpose, you agree to pay for our attorney fees.
